Administration and Governanance
Saint Peter Claver School is governed by the Catholic Diocese of Savannah. Foremost responsibility for the school belongs to Bishop J. Kevin Boland, Bishop of the Diocese. Sister Rose Mary Collins, SJS, serves as the Superintendent of Education for the Catholic Schools in the Diocese.
Responsible for implementing Diocesan policies and procedures is the Pastor of St. Peter Claver School, Reverend Adam Kasela, and the Principal of the school, Sister Ellen Marie Hagar. Sister Ellen Marie, is a member of the Daughters of Charity, a religious order of sisters from Emmitsburg, Maryland whose motto is “the love of Christ urges us on.” This love is the foundation of their service, enabling them to see Christ in the face of those whom they serve and to serve them with respect, devotion, compassion, and charity.
The Pastor and the Principal of the school are assisted by the Parish Advisory Council and the St. Peter Claver School Board. Both advisory groups promote the growth and development of the school through planning, policy formation, financial sustenance, and constant evaluation and improvement.
The Bishop of the Diocese has asked the Florida Catholic Conference to serve as the accrediting agency for the Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Savannah. St. Peter Claver School has been recognized as an accredited school since 1999. The Florida Catholic Conference commended St. Peter Claver School for its full compliance with all standards of excellence, achievement, and school improvement.
